All this despite the NCAA Championships being canceled in 2020, and neither the NCAA Regional nor NCAA National Championships being held in 2021.

Foley has been named the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Conference Assistant Coach of the Year in, 2019, 2020, and 2022, as well as the NCAA Northeast Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 2022. In those years, the team has finished 2nd at the NEWA Dual Meet Championships four times, 2nd at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships three times, and won the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship in 2022.

Prior to Coast Guard, Foley was a graduate assistant at Springfield College for three seasons while he earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and a Masters of Education in Athletic Administration. In each of those three seasons, Springfield College was represented at the NCAA National Championships with individual National Qualifiers.

As an undergraduate, Foley attend Springfield College, where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Coaching. As a competitor, he made appearances at the NCAA National Championships in 2014 and 2015, earning All-American honors with a 6th place finish at 165lbs. He was the NCAA Northeast Regional Champion in his senior year and was named the NEWA Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, to add onto his two Scholar All-American honors. Foley also served as a two-year Team Captain for the Pride.

In addition to coaching, Foley serves on the Physical Fitness Exam (PFE) Committee, assists with the Remedial Physical Training (RPT) program, and is the current Vice President and Sports Info Director for the NEWA Conference, after serving as the Conference Secretary for two years.
